Spatial and temporal variability of CO2 flux from a peatland
south of Venice

ABSTRACT
A series of CO2 flux measurement campaigns have been performed
from 2002 to 2004 by the use of the non-steady-state chamber method to
assess the spatial and temporal variability of peat oxidation in a drained
cultivated peatland south of Venice and to detect the relationship between
the CO2 emissions and the controlling hydrological parameters,
i.e., soil temperature and moisture content. Because of the limited number
of experiments available up to this date, it has been possible to obtain
only a few indications on the relations between the measured quantities.
The analysis of these preliminary results is presented and discussed.
