Research projects at Oxford in solid phase transformations

A review of research projects at Oxford on solid phase transformations was given. The topics covered were:
1.
Energy-well problems arising from elasticity theory models of martensitic transformations.
2.
Related theoretical work in the calculus of variations, especially concerning quasiconvexity and Young measures.
3.
Surface relaxation treated via higher gradient models.
4.
Dynamics, metastability and hysteresis.

The aim was to highlight potential opportunities for collaboration within the network.
